Article 62,63: LHC orders action against 14 candidates

LAHORE:-The full bench of the Lahore High Court resumed hearing of Article 62,63 implementation case and issued an order to take action against 14 candidates.

The court also has demanded the record from the NAB and the FBR regarding 1319 candidates who had moved appeals in the court.

In this regard, the State Bank, the NAB and FBR have been issued notices for further proceeding.

The court has made it clear in its order that main job of the Election Commission is not limited to the holding of general elections; rather, it has to do a lot of things after elections.

“If anybody wants a medal in this regard, he would be bestowed with special award after elections”, said court order.

On the other hand, the Election Commission is of the view that he is busy in making arrangements for holding of fair elections. Such judgments tend to prove stumbling blocks in its way.

Likewise, the FBR is of the opinion that the data of more than 600 candidates was provided to the Election Commission but returning officers have not conducted scrutiny of candidates fairly and honestly.

The FBR made it clear that the Election Commission is not providing data for scrutiny of remaining candidates.
